Our Mission

BÉTx Pénzügyi Zrt. (BÉTx) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) Ltd., established with the primary purpose of providing energy-market general clearing member (GCM) services, through its participation in the clearing membership system operated by European Commodity Clearing AG (ECC), to energy trading clients active on markets cleared by ECC — initially those transferring from KELER CCP Central Counterparty Ltd. (KELER CCP), i.e. clients moving within the BSE–KELER group.

BÉTx plans to take over KELER CCP's affected client portfolio and contractual obligations by way of contract transfer, thereby intending to provide the GCM service to clients on a continuous basis as KELER CCP's contractual legal successor. Following the planned transfer, KELER CCP will also participate in the service under an outsourcing agreement to be concluded with BÉTx; however, all rights, obligations and responsibilities relating to the GCM service will, upon the takeover of the client portfolio, rest with BÉTx vis-à-vis clients, ECC and the supervisory authorities.

Most Important Milestones

• 10 January 2026 — BÉTx was registered by the Court of Registry.
• 2 April 2026 — BÉTx received the supervisory licence required to perform investment services from the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (the central bank of Hungary).
• May–August 2026 — preparation for the clearing service and for the takeover of KELER CCP's current client portfolio, including the establishment of the necessary contractual, personnel, material, technical and capital requirements.
• 16 November 2026 — planned date of the transfer of the portfolio and contractual obligations, and of the planned commencement of clearing services by BÉTx.
